when to schedule your
child’s first visit
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. By age 7, your child’s smile gives us a clear view of how everything is developing.
At this stage, Dr. Erin can identify developing concerns early, monitor growth, and determine the ideal timing for treatment—often helping make future orthodontic care simpler, healthier, and more predictable. Even if no treatment is needed right away, you'll leave with peace of mind and a personalized plan for your child's growing smile.
Sometimes it’s simply a check-in to ensure everything is on track, while helping your child get comfortable and excited about future care. Other times, it’s a gentle, proactive treatment to prevent bigger issues down the road.
